The Vagabonds at Cobh, Ireland
“When I was very young and the urge to be someplace else was on me, I was assured by mature people that maturity would cure this itch. When years described me as mature, the remedy prescribed was middle age. In middle age I was assured that greater age would calm my fever and now that I am fifty-eight perhaps senility will do the job. Nothing has worked. . . . In other words, I don’t improve; in further words, once a bum always a bum.” John Steinbeck, “Travels With Charley”
Well, here we are at our new home, journals.worldnomads.com/graynomadsusa If you have just discovered us, you can see all the places we have been and get our backstory (don't you just love that word?) and see what we've been doing for the past eight years at journals.worldnomads.com/vagabonds, journals.worldnomads.com/vagabondstoo and journals.worldnomads.com/vagabonds3. We have written 1000 stories and added 9000 photos to our journals. We have visited nearly one hundred countries on all seven continents and slept in more strange beds than we can count. And, sad to say, we've out of countries that we can visit with our US passports. Or you just keep reading about our current adventures.
If you want to go back even farther check out journals.worldnomads.com/connieand john, journals.worldnomads.com/johnandconnie, journals.worldnomads.com/fieldnotes, journals.worldnomads.com/seesea and journals.worldnomads.com/ugandaretrospective.
We have finished with our RV phase and are back on the world stage. For a while, anyway. I should have started this chapter as we boarded the cruise ship for Japan but I let it slide. Now we hope you will follow us through Japan and on to our next adventure — wherever that may be.
And as always, you can contact us at john17connie@gmail.com. Maybe you want to join us.
Thanks for coming along — and good travels,
