WE MIGHT STILL BE IN MEXICO but we'e been plotting out the next couple of months. It wasn't easy but finally made some long-range reservations. We leave for Cancun on Tuesday after our Covid tests and fly to Miami on Wednesday. Assuming we test negative it will cover both our flight to Miami and boarding the Carnival Horizon. When the cruise to Aruba, Curacao and the Dominican Republic returns we’ll spend a few days in Ft. Lauderdale seeing if we can score a Covid booster shot at Publix. Then we’ve planned a detour to Omaha to see Connie’s brother who is convalescing.
First a Cruise
We contemplated going directly to the UK or to visit friends in Ireland but eventually decided to fly Omaha-Atlanta-Paris-Florence and spend a month or two in Italy. We could have selected a more direct flight but the layover times in Chicago or Houston were so tight we feared any delay would upgefuk the whole schedule. And who needs the stress? Now we have time for meals in Georgia and France.
Then Some Flights
When we were in Florence in 2011 we spent two-weeks in a 2-star hotel. That was before we had even heard of AirBnB. This time we have upgraded. For the same price as a hotel room we have a two bedroom apartment with a modern kitchen in a 13th Century tower building. We will have to climb 60 stairs but what the heck.
Caio for naio.
