AND NOW FOR THE NUMBERS. This was our 8th guided birding trip, the 1stwith Tropical Birding. There were 4 paying customers, Eduardo driving and Andrés guiding. We were on the road for 20 days, stayed in 8 different accommodations and covered 2500 miles. All together we recorded 470 species with 220 new “lifers” for Connie, giving her a total of 5960 species and placing her at 153 on the Surfbird list of most prolific birders. Of more than 3000 or so photos that John took, Connie saved 1169 of birds plus a few dozen odds and ends.

Except for Eduardo, John was the least obsessive birder and the only one to take photos of the landscape, people and places we visited.
