WHAT A DIFFERENCE A COUPLE OF MILES CAN MAKE. This morning we moved into our new digs, a third-floor, one-bedroom apartment that we found through AirB&B only two miles from Upton Suites. We are renting month-to-month and it looks as if we’ll stay through June. At the risk of sounding like one of those pompous asses on HGTV searching for the “perfect” vacation home, the place is a bit dated and has limited storage. And not a granite counter-top in sight!
AirB&B, third-floor Walk-up
On the plus side, it’s the largest space we’ve had in a decade. It has a full, workable — although nowhere near “gourmet” — kitchen and comes with a washer/dryer. Wifi, of course, free parking and even a gas fireplace for those cold Colorado nights. When we turned on the TV — basic cable only — Tom Selleck aka Magnum, P.I. popped up. If we can’t actually BE in Hawaii . . . .
5 Burners and an oven — but no Granite!
We have begun to schedule doctor’s appointments for the day when things begin to return to normal. John saw his orthopod this morning for a cortisone shot in his aching left shoulder. He even considered replacement surgery since we’ll be around long enough for recovery but other than dire emergencies only Covid-19 related cases are being admitted.
