THE WINTERY WEATHER ON EASTER WEEKEND made “Cower-From-Covid” a little more palatable. We did have to brave the cold Sunday morning and arrange for a new rental car. Denver International Airport was deserted and I was pleasantly surprised that the Dollar Rental station was open. Our brand new Chevy Spark may be the smallest car we have ever rented. At less than $20/day we are actually paying less than most American drivers spend on their own cars.
Spring Snow on our teeny car
The snow and cold continued yesterday — 3” or so total — and we are expecting more on Thursday. It’s a bit of a shock after our nearly endless summer but it didn’t deter Connie from her daily constitutional. Chances of her coming within two-meters of anyone at 7AM are pretty remote. And she can get toasty by the fireplace when she returns.
No lines — Yet
We’ve been back in the States for 2 weeks but after 5 months of driving on the "wrong side of the road," I still haven’t totally adapted to driving on the right — with no particular place to go it’s mox nix. We moved out of the hotel on Wednesday and are snug in our AirB&B apartment. We haven’t had any problems provisioning at Walmart or Safeway — the shelves are spotty in places but there haven’t been any lines yet. There is still so much to choose from.
Almost Normal
I enjoy having a kitchen again but my repertoire has been depleted since my recipes disappeared when the computer died. Thank goodness for the internet.
