THIS IS THE LITTLE BUGGER THAT’S BEEN CAUSING all the trouble. Not so much here in New Zealand where there are only 100 cases of Covid-19. Just the same, everyone is waiting and watching and preparing for the worst.
Star-shaped Coronavirus
We feel like Gregory Peck and Ava Gardner in On the Beach — if you remember the movie or the book by Nevil Shute — waiting for the post-apocalyptic radioactive cloud. That was in Melbourne, not NZ, but close enough. Coronavirus is less lethal than radiation sickness but we’re exercising our option to skedaddle even so.

We are scheduled to leave on Saturday for Honolulu and then to the Big Island where we have an AirB&B apartment for the month. Yesterday Hawaii announce that ALL visitors arriving after Thursday face a mandatory quarantine in their hotel rooms. So the other shoe has fallen and we’re exploring our options.
