I'm a traveller and travel writer after realizing there's more to life than being stuck at work all the time. And I enjoy off-the-radar places that few people would even think of visiting. I've been to 38 countries yet had hundreds of great experiences. The thing I've ever done while travelling is, when I lived in New Zealand, I hitchhiked from Cape Reinga to Stewart Island. I hitched across the Cook Strait on a yacht and across to Stewart Island on a salmon boat. As a hitchhiking extraordinaire, some of my other crazy hitching experiences include on a helicopter in Franz Josef, a top of a mountain of bananas in Nicaragua, on top of a car in Niue, and in the back of an open-air military truck in Cuba. In total I've hitchhiked 143,801 km (89,354 miles) in 31 countries.
After being diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (autism) at the age of 4 my love for the world took off. I was a two-time National Geographic Bee state finalist in secondary school and I acquired my B.A. in geography from California State University Northridge in 2008. I've been accepted to work on my Master's in Pacific Studies at University of South Pacific Laucala (Fiji)
When I'm not travelling my favourite thing to do is write, and write, and then write some more. Poetry is what I love. I've written some 75 poems and in some places on my travels I've recited my poetry loudly Recently I've had my first travel stories published!
Note: some places (e.g. Granada, Auckland, London, Seattle) I've been to more than once so I have photos from separate visits in the same gallery. They're in chronological order from the time I visited each place first (e.g. Sydney, Australia was my first journey).
