About pauluiza
We are Paul & Luiza Hopkins. I’m from Niteroi, Rio, Brazil and Paul is from Adelaide but grew up in Perth, Western Australia. My background is in Anthropology and Cultural develpment and Paul's is IT and Project and Risk Management. We met in Brazil, got married in 1993. We lived in Australia for 12 years and then in Trancoso (south of Bahia), northeast of Brazil, for 5 years, where we had a restaurant, called Masala.
After 5 years running a restaurant we decided it was time to go around the world to see new places and revisit old ones. Our planned time for this trip was between 1 – 2 years but we ended up travelling for 2 years, seven months and four days non stop, covering a total of 35 countries. We left Brazil in 2010 and came back to Trancoso in 2013. We lived in Trancoso for another 2 years and we used this time in Brazil to further explore South and Central America, the USA and the Caribbean.
We moved to Portugal, in May 2015 and we are looking forward to exloring more of Europe and surroundings as well as revisiting a bit of Asia, so, watch this page!
