Transatlantic cruise - Rio to Dover - May 2010

We decided to leave Trancoso for Niteroi on April 21 and spend time with family & friends and on the 4th of may we went on a cruise (MSC Opera) with an Italian company. We went to Salvador & Recife (Brazil), Mindelo (Cabo Verde), Las Palmas (Canary Islands), Cadiz (Spain), Lisbon (Portugal), Vigo & La Coruna (Spain) and arrived in Dover (UK) on the 21st of May. Cadiz & Lisbon were amazing, planning to go back and see a bit more later on. The cruise was ok, I guess. Accommodation was fine, the pool was nice but the entertainment and the parties were quite tacky. We felt very young as we were surrounded by a lot of older people (we are 46 years-old, by the way, not that young… what a feeling). The food was not so good and way too much, enough to feed a small African nation for 6 months. After seeing so much waste for so many days (not to mention the recycling of the dishes), we started a voluntary diet.
