About krodin
I started this blog during my sabbatical in fall 2013 with the hope of inspiring my students to travel and to understand what they experience when they do. I've been sharing some of my thoughts and impressions of the places I've visited since then. These aren't the normal kinds of travel blogs that say where one should stay or where and what one should eat, but rather commentaries on the historical and cultural sites of the places visited. The blog is entitled XEurasian Odyssey as the purpose of the sabbatical was to trace various ancient goddess traditions across the Eurasian landmass. I have since continued the blog and have included places in other continents as well. The emphasis on trying to understand local current situations through their histories, however, has stayed a consistent theme.
The sabbatical trip was truly an adventure of a lifetime, and I've been very fortunate to have had many more since then. I hope that those who read these pages can share in my excitement and wonder at the glories of our world past and present. There is so much negative in the newspapers and around us that I would like to balance the negativity by sharing some of the beauty and blessings I've experienced.
If you are interested in learning more about the amazing place I am blessed to live in, please see my book Lesssons from the Legends of the Salzkammergut: The Divine Feminine in Place and Time published by Mago Books and available as an e-book through the publisher and print through Amazon.
I would love to hear from you with your comments and suggestions.
