Germany Romantic Road 20 - 23/9

GERMANY | Thursday, 23 September 2010 | Views [789]

A quick report to say we are now half way down the Romantische Strasse. We are going at a casual pace and enjoying beautiful weather. It is difficult to find WIFI and internet hence the gaps and quick reports. Our big thing now is to find a laundromat (waschesalon) if they have them here.

Look up the Romantic Road on google or whatever and have a look - today we are in Augsburg. We are particularly looking forward to seeing King Ludwigs famous castles near Fussen on the Swiss border.

We are not sure where to head after that as there are lots of very scenic roads on offer. But we might head into Austria then cross to Leichenstein and Switzerland then into France.

Since heading inland from the coast the weather has been brilliant, we are loving it. The trees are turning colours and autumn is arriving making the landscapes beautiful. The german fields don´t have fences so the countryside is very open and inviting. It is quite cold at night though. Food is cheap at the ALDI stores and beer is REALLY cheap! €1.65 for half a dozen 500ml bottles, Kent is in heaven...
