13th Sept - The road to Estes Park

13th Sept - The road to Estes Park

On the 13th we went headed to Estes Park about an hour away, it was beautiful there and being a Saturday was full of people and had a market day going on so was very interesting.

As you can see from the pic we also got to see a stag and his does, he had a huge set of antlers but wasn't that close to us.

On the 19th we went up to the Horsetooth Reservoir about 10 minutes away to have a picnic. The views were great and the weather perfect. The reservoir is huge and contained above the city by two earth dams, scary thought if either should break. The lake is available for boating and skiing but you are not allowed to swim there unless you pay $10 and swim in a certain area (yeah right). Glen says the water is a perfect temperature for swimming.
