Day trip Colorado Springs

USA | Saturday, 20 September 2008 | Views [720] | Comments [1]

on the 20th with Elaine and Haley, we started early and headed south past Denver and on to Colorado Springs and visited first the Garden of the Gods, then the Cave of the Winds and Manitou Village nearby. The usual lovely weather, the Garden of the Gods was interesting in that the red rock just shot up out of the ground. Climbers were out doing their thing which looked like fun and of course we got to see our first 'wild' rattler. Unfortunately it was too expensive for us to go into the Cave of the Winds but the scenery was pretty spectacular and we also got to watch two planes refuelling in the sky above us - always a plus. On the way back we went via Boulder and got to take part in a party in their mall which is a few blocks long. Also got to digest a few more calories at the Cheesecake Factory restaurant. On the way home from there we also toured a little place called Prospect in which each house is different (very unusual) and coloured (even more unusual). Didn't take any pics there tho.

We saw Satan himself at the Garden of the God's! Then we were kicked out for eating apples... (or maybe it was the nudity?)
