Back in Kathmandu again after the spectacular and scary flight from Lukla, however, I can’t really tell you much about Kathmandu as we didn’t venture very far but I’m sure if you look in our worldnomads archives you’ll find our last visit when we did the sightseeing stuff. Thamel seemed to be even more crammed with shops but we reckon there’s only about 20 different places repeated over and over and over again. We did indulge in a bit of retail therapy and have bought ourselves down jackets for when we’re out and about in Uganda. Other than that we spent time getting ourselves and our clothes clean following the trek, enjoyed sleeping in a bed sans sleeping bag, delighted in having water gush from a tap instead of being frozen solid in a bucket and scoffed lots of tasty scran. Isn’t that what cities are for when you’ve spent 15 days in remote mountainous areas?
