A Brief View of Valencia

Spain | Thursday, December 22, 2022 | 18 photos

We were chasing the winter sun again by escaping the eastern Europe climate and heading to Lanzarote. As always we had to make a stopover somewhere and this time Valencia seemed the best option. The time of the layover meant we had enough time to catch the metro into the city ( 20 mins) and explore around the old town. I had been to Valencia before but that was probably over 35 years ago so it so like a new city for me as well as Emma.
We only had time to look around the impressive market hall and the old churches in the centre. The sun was shining and we were able to enjoy a Valencian traditional , paella, while serenaded by a bull fighter singing viva Espania! We really liked the vibe in the city and would have loved to explore more and go down to the beach and the port area. However, it was soon time to head back to the airport. maybe we will come back for a longer visit and i reckon it's a great alternative to the crowded Barcalona or Madrid for a city break.
