It was all to soon that we had to be heading back to Cape Town for our flight to the UK. We decided to make a bit of a road trip of it stopping off in a few places along the way. SAN Parks were having a 40% off sale on their accommodation so we decided to take advantage of that and stay in some of the amazing chalets that we wouldn't have normally been able to afford. The plan was to head along the coast and stop off first at Tsisikamma NP. We love this place and we bagged a fantastic ocean view chalet. We had a short walk to the Storm's River and were on the look out for dolphins but unfortunately they didn't put in an appearance. From there we headed inland along Route 62 to Barrydale. The coastal road is lovely but we prefer the wide open landscapes of the inland route to Cape Town. We had passed through Barrydale before but never stopped and it turned out to be a great place to spend the night. We think veered back towards the coast and headed down to Swellendam and we spent the night in Bontebok National Park. Another little gem of a park and we were the only people staying in the camp. The chalets have an amazing view of the Breede River and the Bontebok even came to our chalet to say hello. We then moved onto Cape Agulhas via Witsand where the whales didn't show up. We had been to the southern tip of Africa before but never to Cape Agulhas Np just a few kilometres further on. We had saved the best accommodation till last as the chalets over looking the ocean where incredible. We spent our time on the deck whale watching - yep they turned up at last and we also hiked one the trails for spectacular view of the park. It was then soon time to head back to the airport and our flight to the UK. We will hopefully be back in SA soon and definitely not a two year wait!
