back into England

UNITED KINGDOM | Saturday, 21 August 2010 | Views [719]

We spent 3 days in Edinburgh with Brian and enjoyed it immensely. Carol got to have a day in the Scotlands People Centre and found some info about her McRae family and a the Fringe Festival was on Brian and Kent joined her in the city in the evening and we enjoyed the street performers and atmosphere of the evening. Kent was able to help Brian (who suffers with MS) with a few things around his property and it was a lovely place to be in the countryside.

We headed south to Galloway Forest Park and drove around that area and east past Dumfries when we were listening to the radio and heard there was a county fair on a little bit north. We swung up there and the sun came out and we wandered around the tents selling country attire and watching terrior racing which is a real riot. And there we met James and Osteopath and a kindred spirit and spent the evening and the next day enjoying his company. He has invited us to work with him at his next event which is at a music festival in south Cumbira this weekend and we are looking forward to doing that.

We have driven around the Lakes District in the rain and sunshine and today we are at the home of friends of Brians who live in Underbarrow near Crook, haha the names are funny all over England. We arrived unannounced and Maggie bundled us into her cool home and welcomed us like family. Today we head off for a short wander around the Yorkshire Dales before heading to help James set up at the festival.
