Got a mototaxi (or tuktuk in the east) to the bus, luxury but it was too far to walk with our packs. Ate there then had a 3 hour journey to Tingo Maria which is north of Huanuco. Carol went searching for a room and was a bit dismayed with what was on offer, she found an ok room at last except that it smelt a bit we discovered once we were in the room and paid (no problem for Kent). We wandered the markets and found the internet place and the tourism office, they helped us to decide where to go and changed our minds from visiting the Botannical Gardens to visiting a local cave, remind us to follow our own instincts in the future! We taxied out to the cave and thats all it was, not really that interesting it was near a sulphur pool but we didn't go and swim there. By the time we got back to town it was too late to visit the Gardens so we wandered the markets and got the most yummy tasting drink called 'ahuache' at least that was what it sounded like and ate some yummy deep fried sweety on the street.
Next day onto Kilometer 86...
