Welcome to Chile!

After a month in Bolivia, we are just starting to discover Chile. One of the first impressions we had arriving in San Pedro de Atacama in Chile was everything is much more expensive (easily 3-4 times more for food, accommodation, excursions, etc.) than what we were used to these past 2 months, so we have to adapt our daily budget ;-(
However in return everything is much more convenient than Peru and Bolivia: toilet paper, water and soap in bathrooms, streets are clean, buses have sealed windows, heat, AC and bathrooms, hot water in the showers, roads are smooth and paved, etc.
We spent a few days in San Pedro de Atacama (2400m-7874ft) to explore the Atacama desert, the Moon Valley and the Death Valley. This desert area is great to watch the stars because there is no light pollution just like the salar de Uyuni. The Milky Way was so well defined and the sky was so bright with all the stars.
