I did it!!!!!! Started at 8.40am and reached the summit at 12.40pm. Left the top at 12.50pm and got down at 3.25pm. I took the same time to get up Snowdon. I am knackered and everything is aching. It was so hard...so many rocks to step over plus my bad knee did not help. The pain then went up to my thigh and groin area which has never happened before. I was a little concerned at this new pain but persevered. Once at the plateau after the 9 really horrid and evil zig zags I thought my legs were going to give up on me. Something was going on with my thighs and it was really painful everytime I stopped...it was doing my head in so I kept going. Luckily it eased and I got to the top. As usual nothing to see but fog. It was so much fun going down afterwards...killer for the knees but as you can see the weather improved...bloody typical. I amso glad I didn't give up on Ben Nevis and came back. The weather was dramatically kinder as there was no snow storm. Just rain and fog. I have a feeling my knee pain will stay with me for a very long time. Was it worth it?
