Honeymooners We travel, we see sights of awe. Home is where the heart is. My heart is with Briel.

Ground Zero

USA | Thursday, 29 November 2007 | Views [502]

Our camcorder arrived today at Melissa's work.  Sensational and tiny - HD on a HDD 40Gig - exciting stuff!

Visiting Ground Zero - Briel couldn't help but talk and feel sad.  He knew what the Towers had looked like.  He remembered them, and now what we see is rubble, left over empty ground where they are still finding part of bodies and bone.  It is haunting.

What they express though is that they want us never to forget, but it is time to move forward.  To build a 'Freedom Tower'  taller than the others in the city.  However also to biuld a ring of towers which are designed in a step formation.  Then with a memorial and museum also.  Will be wonderful once completed.  They have also made the design in such a way that part of the area is empty - plus all the heros of the day will be named individually.

Politics is such a powerful tool or adversary.  It can do so much good and such harm.  Again we face the truth that ALL life is important.  Race, culture, religion - must we use these reasons to fight? isn't it more important that we live safe and healthy for all?

I don't have any answers, all I know is that as I get older all life becomes more important to me.  I see Briel and I having a family and all I want for them is to live life to the fullest and to be good people to themselves and to others.  I want them to experience a wonderful lifetime.  Doesn't every parent, partner, child, friend want this for all they hold dear?

I live in hope;  but it is hard to change the world.

Ciao for now.
