BARBACOA time!

BRAZIL | Wednesday, 9 January 2008 | Views [961]

Well today Wed 9th Jan, we spent the day on the beach, jet skiing around in tabatinga (the usual) however we also headed to Sao Paulo that evening.  Where we went to Deda's apartment (our base in Sao Paulo) dumoed our gear, and headed out for dinner.

The place was called BARBACOA.  We went with Sato, Deda and Goli.  This was an AMAZING resturant - the best we have ever been to anywhere in the world and we have eaten out alot!

We are lovers of food.  Although we are easy please, we are not easy to impress!  Impressed to the stars we were by this place.  It is of course all you can eat.  They have a buffet of salads and some cold seafoods at the bar.

However the crazy part is the hot BBQ meats that are brought right to your table, carved in some slices off the stick just for you. They constantly come around the tables with different meats, you just nod, or shake you head to get some.  This was not what impressed us.  It was the perfection of the each meat that was cooked, the perfection of the salads, seafoods offered.  The perfection of the drinks, the desserts (OMG) and of course the wonderful wonderful service that I have never experienced.

This is for sure a place where locals know, but foreigners have no idea about.  It is all class. It was simply amazng.  Sorry no pics, we were lazy to bring the camera and the one photo we took - was on Goli's phone which is now broken! errr...

The menu:  Most everyones favourite was "Fraldinha" - Flank steak which is considered the most delicous of all cuts, since it is the part most irrigated on the bull.  It was Briel's favourite.  It came on a steel stick then sliced for you.

My favourite: "Pichana" - special rumpsteak cut.  Also thinly sliced for you at the table for you.  It was my fav flavour.

Everyone could not turn down - "Cupim" meat of the zebu (Brahma) steer.  This is roasted whole for 4 hours before serving.  It was spectacular.

For dessert, the 3 boys had cute pink strawberry cremes - which is fresh cremed strawberries in condensed milk.  Delicious and girly. hehe

I had the hot choclate cake with melted dark chocolate filling with creamy icecream.  It was so delicous it hurt to finish it.

Maybe we will get a chance to go again.  I hope so. Although our bulging stomachs think otherwise... hehe

Tomorrow we are off to a party.. it is Rodrigo's birthday!  Hmm I will have to upload pics of everyone here so you know who everyone is!

Ciao for now!
