Shankill Road Murals

Shankill Road Murals

THE TROUBLES MAY BE IN THE PAST AND A FINAL SETTLEMENT is still a dream.  But activism is alive and well in Belfast and it is most obvious in the murals in West Belfast on Shankill Road.  This isn’t spray-can graffiti or run of the mill tagging but thoughtful and artistic statements.  We couldn’t identify (or identify with) all of the causes but can’t fault the heartfelt sentiments and serious talents of the artists.
