Even a stopped clock shows the correct time twice a day. The Glockenspiel Clock in Graz is five minutes slow, and is never right. That wouldn't happen in Germany! But we weren't in a hurry. We just wanted to see the carved wooden figures come out and dance at 11AM and five minutes was a small price to pay. This isn't the kind of glockenspiel the tall, skinny girl played in the high school band. In German "glockenspiel" refers to the carilon of bells that toll on the hour. The dancing figures are just a bonus.
There are other reasons to visit Graz, of course. It is a beautiful, classy town filled with interesting architecture and very prosperous looking people and we spend the morning wandering around before driving into the mountains near Semmering for lunch.
