Bringing the suds, Hofbrau Haus, Munich

Bringing the suds, Hofbrau Haus, Munich

After a surprisingly comfortable night in the Oslo airport sleeping hobo-style on a restaurant banquet, we continued on to Munich.  Our hotel was conveniently near the Bahnhof, giving us the option of walking or taking public transportation around town.  We are here as tourists, doing all the touristy things.  Like the Christmas Market in Marienplatz.  The square was ablaze with lights and the magnificent Rathaus towered over the thousands of revelers guzzling steaming cups of gluhwein and munching on very unhealthy but oh-so tasty food of the "wurst" kind.

No visit to Munich would be complete without a bite and a quaf at the famous beerhall, the Hofbrau Haus.  So after spending the morning at the Altepinakothek art museum, we ate a surprisingly good and affordable lunch while frauleins with arms full of foaming steins moved in time to the oom-pah-pah.
