Sevilla is a big city with a small historic area. Parking, if you can find it, is expensive so we booked a room at the Ibis chain outside of town. They're not our favorite hotels but have been good in a pinch. Free parking and a direct bus to the "parada," not far from the Cathedral.
Columbus's body may be here
While Sevilla is the home of flamenco, there are other things to see and do. Visit the Cathedral, the largest Gothic cathedral in the Europe and the possible resting place of Columbus. Marvel at the Moorish splendor of the Alcazar. Get lost in the narrow “kissing streets” of the former Jewish quarter. If you have a car, the Roman tombs at Carmona are worth a visit. On the other side of town don’t miss the Roman city of Italica and the mosaics. We especially enjoyed the Casa de Pajeros, the House of Birds.
