Activity:

Lunch: we experienced an authentic Portuguese meal with Eduardo’s family. Very friendly people and welcomed us into their home with arms wide open.

Sound Check BomBacado: before the concert we went to the sound check, where we got to meet all the band members and even got a chance to experiment with some of the instruments. I have a new found respect fro percussionists.

Foods:

Gilo: a greenish, bitter eggplant-looking vegetable.

Costelinha: tiny pork ribs, prepared in a traditional Brazilian manner. Delicious!!!

Angu: a dish of cooked corn meal.

Pimenta malagueta: the Brazilian chilli, very different in taste, not too hot.

Drinks:

Bacardi Apple: pronounced “Ba-ca-gee” an apple rum.

Quentao: a boiling hot cinnamon drink, was pretty horrible.
