Caught the bus back to Auckland via Thames where I met up with Catharina again. Sat with another German girl on the bus - there seems to be a lot of Germans travelling in NZ at the moment. Decided to stay at a different hostel in the city. I met up with Bernie (who I had met in Whitianga) and her 2 room mates Deborah and Sarah. Went for lunch and to watch the rugby game on Sunday with Bernie and Mandy (a new room mate of Bernies) at an Irish bar called O'Carrolls. We were supporting Ireland (Bernie is Irish) but they lost. Went for a walk later for an ice cream but ended up back in the bar.
I'm really glad I took the decision to come here, I've met so many great new people who I would never have met or talked to at home.
