The Singapore Sling

SINGAPORE | Saturday, 19 April 2008 | Views [251]

I got up early to watch the sunrise – time wasted really as it was too cloudy. But I watched us sail into Singapore harbour and dock. It was odd getting up and finding we were sailing along through other ships and within sight of land.

Off on to our tour in which we were doing the “City Tour” yet again. Lots of huge high-rise buildings. Some nice colonial architecture (with attendant snake-charmers for the tourists). A visit to “little India” and “little Chinatown”. Best part was the orchid garden which was beautiful. Singapore orchids – all colours – growing amid the colourful leaves of tropical plants. Just lovely.

Today’s cocktail. Not surprisingly, is the “Singapore Sling”.

Another Gala night tonight. This time I used the wrap I bought in the Orchid garden in Singapore. Afterwards, off to the Theatre for a Flamenco show which was amazing. Tomorrow’s cocktail is “Sex on the Beach” Hopefully it doesn’t taste of seawater and sand! (It didn’t. It was Vodka and Peach and Cranberry. Tasted a bit like medicine).
