Buenos Aires

ARGENTINA | Tuesday, 19 February 2008 | Views [864]

Buenos Aires a verty pretty city indeed full of life, music, art and beauty.  No wonder the Argentinanç s are so proud of it. They can boast a great metro system which links many areas together to the main centre of Plaza de Mayo.  Cost is just 90cents PESOS.  Cheap as There is also great bus commentions within the city and to other cites and international destions by bus.  They have transport very well enabled. La Boca is very pretty, was the first port town with an Italian background. The houses are typically very colourful and have tango dancing on the streets on a Sunday. For a great cheap eat try Ugi´s pizza. Seems to be a little chain place where they sell a whole mozarella pizza for 8 Pesos (about 2EUR). hmmmm The River area is nice for a walk with loads of great resturants (although not cheap eats). THe Plaza de Mayo is the centre point where all things happen and have happened. Evita addressed the people from here in the Pink Building - Casa de Rossa. Here there was even a protest when we went. So we were treated to a show by the riot police and some demonstrating by the locals. Of course you need to walk down the main street Ave de Mayo for all the shopping needs which also leads you to the Congress building and walks past the Catedral. we took a look in China town. The smallest China town I have ever seen it was about 2 streets only. The acupuncture needles were VERY expensive to buy - we paid 4EUR for 40 needles. Alot more than in Amsterdam. Maybe double. Freddo´s icecream was fantastic with different types of Dulce de Leche... plus the regular flavours in their won style. pretty expensive this one at 3EUR but it was delicious. Anyway ciao for now!
