We detoured through the hill town of Montoro on our way to Cordoba. We were looking for information on the national park and became entangled in a maze of hilly, twisting streets so narrow we had to fold in our mirrors to avoid rubbing the whitewashed walls of the old homes. "Sir Clive," our sat-nav, was absolutely useless on the narrow lanes with countless one-ways and streets blocked by delivery trucks. "Turn right, then right," and "Turn left then right," had us going in circles so that I began to recognize people's faces. Some turns were so sharp I had to actually reverse to get our little car around! Just as I was at my wits end we popped out onto a real road and high-tailed it towards Cordoba.
