Last stop on the Magic Bus was Wellington. Stayed at the Cambridge Hotel with Lou, Ella, Dawn and Angi. Met up with several people that I had previously met when last here - Rob, Llew and Sarah. Called to see Paul and Virginia (ex-family) who I havent seen in 13 years when they emigrated to a suburb of Wellington. It was really good to see them again and their 2 boys who I have never seen.
Early morning ferry back to the South Island on friday. Much better weather than the first time I did the crossing. Connected with the Trans Scenic train at Picton for the 2 1/2 hour journey to Kaikoura. Very scenic journey (hence the name of the train - Trans Scenic). Went seal watching with a friend in Kaikoura on Saturday afternoon - saw quite a few fur seals just lazing on the beach.
