Got to Manchester Airport in plenty of time, checked in straight away and the plane left on time. I was sat next to an elderly couple who were quite talkative. They had travelled extensively and were full of advice. Arrived at Singapore but only had an hour to wait for the next flight. The plane left 40 mins late but arrived in New Zealand on time. Singapore Airlines were very good. Took ages to clear customs especially as I had to unpack my rucksack to have my walking boots (which were at the bottom) inspected and cleaned. Caught a shuttle bus to the hostel with several others. Got to bed at 2.30am.
