Stayed up late and watched Denzel and Clive Owen in Inside Man while reclining in bed with coffee. Did me good. Health improved but harbouring chest infection which antibiotics are having to struggle with. What a condition in which to go to Tibet!
Serious warm clothes shopping. Had to stop for coffee and apfel strudel (almost) at Weizen bakery to cheer myself up after being hassled by clothes shop people.
Finally buy the lot inc sleeping bag from serious trek shop. It all comes to 13,000r which is about the price of a genuine North Face jacket on Tridevi Marg. Later go off to see Kumari. They have a new one! She is three years old and appears very briefly at an upper window in the temple courtyard. After that I get involved in photographing the wood carvings until told off for distracting the living goddess with the flash. She flickers in and out of view. So I left in a huff. Actually I left in a minute and a huff. (Thanks, G. Marx)Rickshaw back which was so pretty and polished brass bits that I asked to photograph it. Rickshaws are nicest from of travel after trains. Bed early after packing all new gear in new bag.
Buy new (and fake) North Face bag as it is larger - 70 litres- sorry, Simon.
