Funny thing is, when I got to Pakistan it was in my mind to skip India altogether and instead to go to Peshawar and then get a ride on the Karakoram Highway into China. Having said Derbyshire to Delhi, I kinda didn't pursue other options. Trust your instincts and not the schedule. Feeling better but still daunted by the idea of all that China. Seduced by silk scarves. Shipped stuff home.

Utterly but utterly wretched in heat and humidity. having icecold milkshake which helps for a while.

This evening a parade went by. Worshippers of Kali singing and taking the statue down to the ganges. Trouble is, the whole town is packed with holymen and religious people and worshippers of one sort or another - yet no one is cleaning the streets, no one is looking after the street kids. To my eye anyway - an that's all I have.
