Salvador and Lencois, Brazil

BRAZIL | Sunday, 24 November 2002 | Views [521]

Brazil: A country of spontaneity and unplanned events!

Welcome reception including great food and an exciting Capoeira demonstration, a Brazilian martial arts dance.

Night bus ride to Lencois, a safe, quaint little town with good hiking and natural waterslides.

Hole in the wall hotel with rock hard beds :)

Hiking with a guide hired from a little local tourism biz on the square.

Rose quartz will always remind me of Brazil!

The town came alive at night for shopping after the afternoon siesta time.

Spontaneous dinner with Dom, May, Andrew and Tim which included amazing steak, many litre sized beers, almost missing on-ship time (or “in-line” time), and an amusing language issue between Tim and the taxi driver which ended in laughs and good-natured hugs.
