My super boring journal I would like some more pressed duck.

The BEST journal ever!

Helen I am so sorry I didn't put any journal up. I went a bit crazy this week with lazy. But the lazy has lifted and I am back rareing? to go. For anyone who missed it Helen had some exciting news. She has purchased a home. 3 brd, 1 bath in Armadale. A bit of a fixer-upper but I think that will suit her just fine. Congratulations Helen.

Since my last journal I went on holidays to France and have recieved special visitors. In France I went to Normandy and traveld around to a lot of the sights from the war. It was very interesting. It was awesome to be in country France aswell. Everything looked very French and peaceful. Paris is a bit dirty and busy and cold... but I will give Paris one more chance...We caught the Ferry to Caen. That was pretty cool. A bit like a cruise. And I ate Fois Gras and bought lots of CHEAP wine. A good trip all round.

I have had mum and Dan here but they are on their tour at the minute. Mum LOVES the island just as I had predicted she would. Daniel is very tall. They are good house guests. They keep tidy and mum cooked a few times. We went to Godshill which is a very quaint village here. We had a traditional roast lunch, played in a hedge maze and visited the model village. The model village was awesome (particulary as we had watched 'Hot Fuzz' the night before). You could see the model of my house except there was no house it was just the area when my house would be built. Mum and Dan wil be guest journallers next time.

Steve and Steph had their baby. He is called Sebastien and he is very cute. I caught the bus and walked in the rain to visit him on Sunday. I have sea monkeys in my classroom now. We hatched them from eggs. They are AWESOME.

I have new classes now. I like the two I have had so far. They year 9's have become year 10's and the year 10's have become year 11's. And I just got my new contract. I get a pay rise and get paid over the summer which are the two things I wanted. It is good. England has had it's wettest day since records began... it rained quite a bit.

Love to you all. It wil be less than one month before I put my next journal up... i promise... for definately.

Dear Sue,

Congratulations to both you and Helen. What a wonderful photo of you and Dan. He must be having a great time. Er, what's happening down here? They planted bluegums next door four days ago. Yesterday I could see the shoots coming up. By the way, please give my condolences to Tony Blair.

Love Janet

Hedge Maze.

There is a hedge maze on the Isle of Wight.

Did you know I've been to the Isle of Wight, but I've never been in no hedge maze! Just the crappy maze in Denmark which is a muddy bush-track that leds to some benches.

It was like my wildest dreams had come true.

Hello young Suseth.

Hope you are enjoying all fun and adventures with your dearly beloved brother and mother. Glad to see a new post- am anticipating with bated breath for a report from Dan and Mrs Fahey.
You must have shrunk Susan, cause the photo clearly shows you a head BELOW Daniel, and he is only a wee thing. Perhaps it is a trick of the light. Or parallax error.
Just a note- is that a dog on wheels in the background. Or is it parallax error?
We back in cultured Perth are having difficulty diagnosing what Fais Gois exactly is- it is goose liver, or goose stuffed with a duck, stuffed with a quail, stuffed with a moose. Please keep us informed.
It is actually a bit rainy in WA at the moment, which is the first time it has rained in twenty five years. I have to buy an umbrella, ella, ella, ella. (For the kids.)
In other, non-umbrella news, I was nearly the music teacher at school, for about a week. The music teacher WAS going to leave, and naturally I haven't taught evey subject under the sun at Dale yet, so I was getting ready to give it a shot. I was contemplating bringing the joys of 'musique concrete' to willing year 8 ears, and have them create their own compositions of dogs barking and printing presses... pressing. Alas, the music teacher is back on board, so I have actually gained a coupla periods free, and am picking up a gifted and talented class for primary kids. Cool.
You will be DELIGHTED to hear that my Year 8 Robotics students are competing in the Scitech RoboCup after the holidays. I will give you a full rundown after the event, but I can wet your appetites with a mention of green wigs, dance moves, and MC Hammer.
HOLIDAYS NEXT WEEK! Mel, Tim, Ebony, Helen and I are going to Pemberton for a coupla days. We are going to make merry and be rambuctious. And discuss parallax error.
Tomorrow, our home Internet speed goes three times faster. Just a LITTLE bit excited.
Stop shrinking,
Simon J.

Hello, This the one the only Daniel speaking (susan typing) I know you've all been missing me but I';ve bought you all some great presents and I even got Helen a shiny rock! I got SImon and Tim the awesomest present from Shakespeares birthplace! And I got Ebony the most gifts. Isn't that the heart foundation thing on the money. Oh my gosh they're sellouts. I am having a great time... a great time. Run DMC love themselves. I am not allowed to type this because she thinks I will type with my tongue. And do you know whwat's funny about here? They call an esplanade an esplanade. They make it rhyme with Lemonade. I have gotten new head phones. I have started talking crap. So I will go now. Love, Dan

This is Lesley Fahey @ Shanklin, which is a lovely place. The bus drivers call into the shops along the route and stop for cigarette breaks (people can't smoke inside work vehicles since Monday 1st). Even I could throw a stone from here and it would land on the beach. We hear the gentle sound of the waves crashing all night. A short walk along the road is a casino for all ages (called an arcade here). They even have steps up to the games so that little kids can gamble easily! The ice-creams are lovely. Too much curry gives you the runs. The Islanders love their clotted cream, and serve it with everything, and signs advertising "clotted cream teas" are meant to attract customers. Our Trafalgar Tour was very enjoyable and good value for money. Scotland and Ireland were wet and cold. York (in England) got flooded out about two days after we had left there. The Romans called Scotland Caledonia, and some businesses there still use that name. The Romans called Ireland Hibernia, which means "land of eternal winter". Edinburg is a lovely city, despite the cold. York and Bath are also very pretty as is the whole of Wales (except for the industrialised part of Cardiff where they used to mine coal). The drivers in Cardiff are fond of using their horns. The Romans in Bath used to exercise to work up a sweat and then rub themselves down with oil and sand This was then scraped off before they got into the baths. I won't tell you what they used to do with the scrapings! London is immensely over-rated, but I enjoyed our boat trip around the Thames was because of the historical significance of all the land-marks. The Romans called the Isle of Wight Vectis, which is the name of the bus service. So we are now back to the Isle of Wight buses. Most are double storey, and some are open-topped, so when you sit upstairs you have to duck from the over-hanging branches of the trees and sometimes from the street signs. I could spend every English summer in Shanklin. I have also bought people presents, but won't elaborate. Love to Ted, Eb, Kerin, Adam, Lily, Helen, Simon and Tim and Floyd. XXX

I forgot to say love to Janet, Roger and Emma too. I also forgot to say that the English have a history of being extremely bloodthirsty towards their enemies, and even towards their friends and families. Beheading was considered to be a merciful killing, because it was supposed to be quick, but it wasn't always because the instruments weren't always sharp enough and several attempts had to be made. Other types of killings were certainly fates worse than death and involved the worst types of torture imaginable. I won't go into details, because probably only Ebony would appreciate them. X

Sounds like someone visited a medievil torture museum..

Dear Sue, Lesley and Dan,

Thanks for your postcard, Lesley. We received it the other day. I was a bit concerned to see that it was from Glasgow. You must have missed the car bomb by days. Yes, I remember those double-decker buses. I was always scared to walk upstairs while the bus was moving and it was a bit of a relief to know they weren't used in Perth. I remember an arcade near Littlehampton beach which had a gambling machine. You put a penny in it and if you were lucky twopence would come out. What kind of money do they gamble now?

Love Janet

Hi, Janet. Yes, I think we missed the bombs by 2 or 3 days. They now use 2p, 5p and 10p in the machines. We are all going to Littlehampton next Saturday (14th) are spending the night in the Victoria Hotel in New Road. It's a pity you won't be coming too. I think you remember more things than me. Love. Lesley

About 12 more hours here, and since we sleep at night, we will not be going for a further 20 hours approximately. Susan says we won't need to reserve seats, as people are not so fanatical here, even though there are only 3 cinemas on the whole island. What would Ron think about you going over to the dark side? XMum.

Hi Sue
My life being totally bereft of anything interesting, I have compiled a list of uninteresting things for your reading pleasure. Enjoy!

I eat muesli for breakfast. Sometimes with chili.

I make curtains. Today I looked for my scissors. They were in my pocket.

I attend a theology discussion group.

I listen to Bob Dylan (very uninteresting)

I go to hardwares and buy light globes and door knobs.

My favourite saying is "Nah mate" like Jack Sparrow.

Another uninteresting thing I do is write down new words I read.

This is a list of new words.

nomunculus
prolix
chez
defenstration
adamantine
aetiologies
sarx
fissiparous
tergivesation
kine

Tonight I made lasagna. It was exciting.

Last time I spoke to Daniel on Skype, he left me to go across the road. I had a lovely and informative chat to Mrs Fahey about their tour to Edinburgh. Daniel had gone to the shop to buy more Coke. He said not to tell you.

Harry Potter is bursting onto the screen as I type. We shall go to see it soon, but seriously, it is a mere speedbump to the 7th book.

Tim

Dear Sue et al,

I have a question about Lesley's last comment. What was that all about? But maybe I shouldn't ask.

  Janet Jul 13, 2007 1:05 AM

Sue, I think the Communists are deleting transgressive messages in your post. Ebony's message survived a small amount of time, but has verily disappeared. That is why Mrs Fahey's message is completely walnut crazy.

Damn Communists.

PS: We bought La Premiere tix to see HP next Wednesday. It got a thrilling review from Ebony.

PSS: Nice post Tim.

PSSS: Your message box now has spell checker. But it is does not know WHAT to do with a word like 'aetiologies'.

Thanks Simon for pointing that out. I was of course replying to a message from Ebony who said there was only 4 hours until the Harry Potter Movie, and that she was going dressed as a death-eater, complete with a sign of the dark mark.

As an experiment, I will repeat the above message with some substituted words.

Thanks Simon for pointing that out. I was of course replying to a message from Ebony who said there was only 4 hours until the Harry Potter Movie, and that she was going dressed as a rabbit-lover, complete with the sign of the happy paw.

Littlehampton is the town full of Lesleys. I am serious! It was awesome.

I would like like to say that the hotel we stayed in at Littlehampton was the nicest I have stayed in during our whole trip, including the four star ones. It is the Victoria Hotel at 59 New Road. The accommodation is very cheap and the atmosphere is brilliant and very friendly. We got a delightful, spacious room and a delicious English breakfast in the morning. The hotel is a converted vicarage and is very pretty and full of character. Diane, who has been running the hotel for years and has always lived in Littlehampton, is lovely. It was really nice to stay there on my first visit back to Littlehampton in 31 years.
