Howdy All,
I had a good day today. The weather was good and after sleeping half the day yesterday I woke up quite early ( Before 9.00)
I went to the La Brea Tar Pits. The pits themselves just look like stinky bubbling polluting laKes, but there was a lot of empty parkland which is a rare thing in LA. I went to the museum (It was free tuesday) and saw all of the bones. That was really cool. The tar pits is the richest ic3e age fossil d\eposit in the world. They have over 3 million specimens. They had lots of school groups go in. That was a bit annoying but it was nice not to be the one to look after them! It's quite geeky of me but I really liked the tar pits.
The tar its are next to the LA County Art gallery. For some reason it was packed. There was a massive line for people who had tickets, so after waiting in line to buy tickets for about 20minutes I gave up. It was expensive too, like $15. SO instead I went to Beverly Hills. I went down Rodeo Drive. It was completely deserted and I wasn't brave enough to go into any of the stores. Then I went down Beverly Drive. They had a Taschen shop with all the Taschen boioks. That was cool. then I went to westfield shopping town. It was very different to carousel.
Firstly it had valet peple waiting at the massive carpark. It was also difficult to find an entrance (to keep the riff raff out). Once you were in it was all shops lined up connected to the outdoors. Most of the shops were quite expensive, but Macy's was having a sale and I got 2 pairs of jeans and 2 shirts for $60. One pair of jeans was $8. That was about 80% off.
I went to the foodcourt and it was like no other food court you have seen. It hAd all the same place that are at all other food courts but they were all done in a stainless steel and marble design. And, they didn't have any menus on the wall, so you'd walk up and have to ask for a paper menu before you could order. I went outside to eat and they had nice table s with plants on them all in and undercover marquee type thing. There was a bad playing outside. A whole band, piano, guitar, drums, everything. And they didn't give you po;ysyrene cuts you got glass ones and proper china. It was cool.
Today was fun. Don't know what I will do tommorrow. Hope you are all well and having fun.
Love, Susan
