Trains from Mumbai to Varanasi

Trains from Mumabi CST to Varanasi are 1 or 2 per day. You would need to check the train schedules as they di change. Prices are from 432 ruppees for the basic sleeper. The prices steeply rising for the tourist couces and first class. You get tickets from the special TOURIST counter!!! Go here!!! Ask around and they will tell you where it is.
The train ride was 30 hours long and was crazy as we went a bit local with the normal non-AC sleeper. Where we got our own beds up high (much recommended). Otherwise below you canend up sleeping with 1 or 2 other locals. haha
The locals travel 3-4 people on a bed -sometimes I saw a family of 6 people crowded on the one bed. NUTS.
It was smelly, long, hot and dirty. I would recommend the better carriages.
However it was a local experience I will never forget!
