Wednesday, 10 August: We finish our time in Munich as part of the follow on excursion with AmaWaterways. Again, very well managed with a great and very informative tour to the Fairy Tale Castle, Neuschwanstein Castle, of King Ludwig II in Bavaria. A fascinating story about the great benefactor of Richard Wagner, with a mysterious short life. He wanted to be an enigma and he succeeded.
We saw the Bavarian countryside and portions of the Alps, though much was shrouded in clouds and rain. It’s easy to imagine the view, the lakes, and the alps on a sunny day, as it was spectacular even in the mist.
Now leaving this great European excursion for some relaxing time in Dorset, UK, in the seaside town of Weymouth. It’s been terrific!!!
