Galvan’s Gorge & Manning Gorge

AUSTRALIA | Wednesday, 23 June 2010 | Views [376]

Off again the next morning after school and pack up (breakneck pace currently – not sure why???)  Stopped off at Iminji general store (on the Gibb – services an aboriginal community with very rudimentary groceries, frozen food and diesel).  Just as well we stopped, as they let us know that the next roadhouse had run out of diesel – so we filled up here at $1.95c / l  (which is apparently 6c / l less that the next roadhouse).

Walked into Galvans Gorge – another beautiful spot,  with a small waterfall emptying into a deep pool.  Again the perfect place for a mid-morning swim.

In the afternoon, it was a hike to Manning Gorge.  We are camping tonight at the Manning Gorge camp site, and have had wonderful refreshing swims in the Billabong and gorge pools.
