I cant believe it, I only have one more week of work before 7 months of long service leave stretches out in front…… Yahooo! And, only about 2 weeks until we head off on our 7 month outback camping tour of Oz.
However, I do have to confess that the idea of 7 months of camping is a little bit daunting to say the least. In fact I suspect that my lovely family and friends who know me well are probably running a book on how long it will take before Leanne experiences “camp fever” and requires urgent Caravan park with hot showers – therapy.
Steve of course – being the “camping king” is nothing but thrilled about the idea of 7 months under canvas. I am not convinced however that we are even going to fit in the car at this rate. I keep surveying the growing piles of items that are springing up around the house in readiness for packing, and there seems to be an awful lot of stuff that we are intending to cram in. Perhaps I need an urgent lesson in culling.
Steve has just spent 3 hours doing what can only be described as a three dimensional jigsaw puzzle outside – as he tried to fit 3 bikes and a three seater canoe on the roof, and he assures me that with pedal removal it is all systems go. (hopefully we don’t have to ride anywhere in a hurry).
We would love it if you follow along as we travel around, I am sure there will be more than our share of laughter, tears, misadventures and fun. We would love it if you add your comments, as I am sure there will be times when our “real” life seems a long way away.
