Ann pumping water in Madurai, India

Our friend, Ted just visited us from Madurai, India where he runs a before & after school program for kids in poverty.  We have seen these bright 'SEED' (Support, Educate, Encourage Disadvantaged) students go from grade school to college & beyond, getting degrees in health, social service, education, math, etc.  They not only get degrees and jobs, they also come back to help the other younger students!

Ted also told us about the incredible lack of water & also electricity - each running now for only a few hours a day or for water, sometimes only every 2-3 days.  I am not sure we can do anything about this HUGE issue from here or even if we were there - what would we do?  But we can surely appreciate and be grateful for every glass of water we drink and NOT waste it!  Helping our environment and not contributing to global warming might help too!
