'We are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars' Oscar Wilde

Or, in the case of Jon and me last night in Istanbul, sitting in the road on little red plastic stools in good Turkish company watching a cartman make kebab. Then eating the foot-long kebab wrap and washing it down with what may well have been goatsmilk yoghurt. It was a perfect meal in perfect surroundings, Akbiyik Street, not far from the Four Seasons Hotel in Sultanahmet. Pity the folk in the Four Seasons.
