Today I finished my packing list and went out to buy a few missing items. As it turned out, I don’t need much to survive. Most days my bags are full of textbooks for school or documents for work. It was refreshing to prep a bag and leave space for fun items like swimwear and my Eat’n’Tool with built in bottle opener (always handy in a pinch). While I was shopping, I was inspired to pick up a telescoping monopod due to a recent trip to Cleveland. A friend of mine had what she dubbed a “selfie stick” attached to her GoPro. It made taking pictures of large groups and scenery a breeze. Normally the pictures I take of myself end up zoomed on my forehead and it is impossible to see the background, so naturally I was a bit envious. When I saw the camera section had monopods for normal cameras, I couldn’t resist picking up my own selfie stick for my trip. After taking it out for a trial run, I’ve been more than happy with the results.
