Day 125: Taking it easy in Luang Prabang

LAOS | Sunday, 9 March 2008 | Views [1168]

Sunday 9th March

It felt good to be back in LP for a few days and I spent the morning scoping out what I was going to do during my time here. I wasn't interested in doing anymore treks, and I had my fill of waterfalls and caves, as impressive as they had been. White water rafting and kayaking are very popular activities in this area, but the dry season that we are currently in (which runs between October and May) means that that we are out of the peak time for this kind of thing. In the end, I decided to keep my cash for another time and place, and there's much to enjoy in LP without having to fork out too much.

I spent the day just reading, eating and walking around town, taking in the sights. The power was off all over town between 08.00 and 17.30, so once it was back on, I checked my email before heading back to the guesthouse to relax there for the rest of the evening.
