Days 75 - 78 - On the Beach

BRAZIL | Thursday, 5 April 2007 | Views [791]

Well, I really am in holiday mode over here in Brazil.

Ive spent the last 4 days at the various beaches of Ilha Santa Catarina, enjoying the surf, sand and these drinks made of giant coconuts that they drill a hole into so you can drink from a straw. Delicious!

Some of the beaches I have visited...

 - Ingleses: literally translates to 'english beach' and i know why. The water was flat and cold, but overall it was a lovely beach, very quiet and a nice place to spend some time reading my book and listening to my iPod with my mate Raph.

 - Santinho: translates to 'little saints beach' and is very large, non populated beach where I enjoyed beers on a beachside pub which spilled out onto the sand. The perfect music match for Raph and I at this beach was Xavier Rudd!

 - Barra da Lagoa: my local beach and my favourite as you can walk for kms without seeing anyone at all. Many locas kite surf here so thats interesting to watch. Also much yoga is practiced on the beach and its only 5 mins walk from my hostel, so thats nice.

 - Mole: a big surfing beach 10 mins on the bus from my hostel. Loads of gringos there for the surf and to watch the beautiful people walk by.

 - Joaquina: where the best samba club in this area sits on the sand. Massive dunes where you can dune surf, and even bigger waves that some attepmt to surf. Very nice!

So, there are at leas 8 more beaches I have yet to see! Ill be staying here for another 5 days to keep travelling the beach circuit and reporting back on the best places to go!

Until next time,

Another cococut drink por favor!
