Hi,

WOW! It has been a LONG time since I wrote in here. It is terrible how slack you can get with your journal when you are in such high demand for social engagements.

We went to dinner with some of Jane Anns friends on Thursday night and then we went to see ‘Chronicles of Narnia’. I was really impressed at how good it was. Often times movie adaptations are les than they should be, but this was good. Excellent casting of the children.

On Friday we went to dinner with more of Jane Anns friends and then even more of them came over. A lot were the same people I had seen for drinks a while ago. Then we went to Niagra Falls to see the light display they had for Christmas and New Years. The falls themselves weren’t as frozen up as they were the first time I had seen them. Then we went to the Niagra Falls casino. It was fun. There were more pokies than burswood but not the same variety of tables. They had a big poker room and roulette, blackjack and different varieties of poker. The minimum table bet was $25 so I stuck with the pokies. They had actual pokies aswell so you could spin the numbers, not just poker/pontoon/keno machines. At the end of the night I had lost $6.50 so it all wasn’t too bad.

Saturday was a funny day. I was very homesick. We drove into Toronto so I could change my ticket but the counter was closed. That was exceedingly annoying. I went to a New Years Eve party at one of Jane Anns friends house. I had met most of the people there 3 times so I felt more comfortable and it turned out to be a very fun party. Everyone was really excited when midnight came around and lots of people came and hugged me. I think that was different to the New Years Eve dos where midnight rolls around, is sombrely announced and everyone goes home. I think Australians have less of a sense of occasion.

Still looking for both a car and a job! I hope I get one soon. I really need stuff to do. Because sometimes my journals are boring I have put a notebook in my bag so I can jot down random things that are interesting tidbits of information that can be slotted in to any journal entry. That should liven things up a bit. Because this journal entry is so fascinating already I shall not have to use anything from my notebook. Maybe next time!

Love you all and miss you!

FINALLY! I have been hanging out to hear from my Sue. And besides, I have about a billion top ten lists to publish. Sigh- it is impossible to console a homesick person from the other side of the world, so all I can say is, sit down, focus, and really try to think of the absolute worst things from home, the things that drive you mad, and really dwell on them, toss them over in your mind for a good couple of hours. Then go and spend some money on something ridiculous. Or have a bath with a tracksuit on. THEN you'll feel better. AND NOW, IT'S TIME FOR.... Simon's Top Ten List Of Games They SHOULD Have At The Casino 1.Patience 2.Twister 3.Eye Toy 4.Strip poker 5.Cluedo 6.Ready Set Cook 7.Croquet -ala Alice in Wonderland 8.Wheel Of Fortune 9.Snap 10.It's A Knockout

Well I definately miss you too...played a game called "scene it" on new years eve and was missing you lots...(cos if you were on my team we most definately would have won). Its a game about movies and stuff, testing all the useless knowledge that fills your mind. Had my last day of SupaValu on Saturday, it was bitter sweet, all the young guys were really nice, some came in specifically to say goodbye, I got heaps of chocolates and Syd was really nice too (gave me a nice pen and diary). Mr Dean gave me nothing, not even a very nice goodbye...all I got was a handshake with the words "its been fun"...actually depressed me a bit at first to think of all I did at that place not even get a sincere thanks or even a card, but I am most definately over it now...we don't work for the praises of man, we work to earn money and to find enjoyment in our work, and i enjoyed my years there...At least I got a Christmas Ham for Christmas (hahaha). Once again I am blabbing about myself, i will be coming to my parents house much more regularly to do programming so i will be able to check the internet regualry...so be prepared for some dazzling journal comments from your old pal Brenty...missin ya and hope you can find a Camira for $40 to drive around in!
