My super boring journal I would like some more pressed duck.

Don't go outside if you have wet hair.

Hiya, (I think that is a greeting I have yet to use. Yay me)

Firstly I just wanted to congratulate Simon on his use of lists to add to the entertainment of my journal. They are very entertaining.

Today I had a very lazy day. I woke up at about 10.00am. I go out of bed and watched tv for a while. There are many different channels to choose from so it is worth it just to play with the clicker. Then I had a showere and washed my hair. This meant that I had to wait for it to dry before I could go out. So, I watched more tv. I saw the nominations for the golden globes. (Some dodgy nominations this year) Then I looked through the paper to see about any jobs. I half applied for one as a safety inspector and half applied for one doing inventory for different businesses, but then my hair was dry so I was ready to go out. I bought a new file to put my CV in but the slips are to short for A4 paper. North America uses slightly smaller paper for everything.

I wore an extra jacket to yesterday and I borrowed some boots. That made me much warmer. Mum some boots have good tread and some don't. They don't make any shoes that are slip proof. They do however make much better shoes than I own. I went looking for some at the op shop. They were all too small. I am also on the lookout for a waterproof outfit so I can play in the snow. These are very expensive new and I shall only wear them briefly so I must buy second hand.

I went ound all the shops around waterdown. The funnest was KFC which has Poutaine (maybe that is spelled wrong) on its menu. That is chips with gravy and cheese curds on top. This is a canadian dish. Jane Ann says it is not real nice though.

To clarify, the backyard ice rink is MUCH larger than a paddling pool. It is like 10m by 20m. Otherwise bakyard skating would be very physically confined.

We may go to see a movie now. I am hoping it will be 'Harry Potter'. I still have not seen it.

Later yo! Peace out.

Hiya, Suse. I remember using that greeting in England, so I don't think it's exclusively Canadian. I hope you are able to find suitable clothes and shoes to enable you to enjoy the outdoors. It is unseasonably cool here for this time of the year. 24 degrees yesterday and only 22 degrees today and very cloudy. What a nuisance about the different paper size. I know that when you print something off the internet, the sides are sometimes cut off because of the different sized paper used in America. I think the world could least agree on standard paper sizes. That poutaine might be a French-Canadian dish given its spelling. The cheese curds would supply the missing protein, but it would still be awfully low in fibre, like most fast-foods. Will you also be applying for teaching jobs? I hpoe you do get to see 'Goblet of Fire' as it is excellent. I am reading 'Order of the Phoenix' at the moment, and finding it really good. I can't take it to work to read on the bus because it is too bulky, so am reading it at home. I think what makes these books so interesting is that JK Rowling makes you really care about what happens to the characters. Anyway, I must go now - to the first of my work Christmas celebrations. Talk to you soon. A bientot. Love XXX

Hiya Sue. Totally cool that you are digging my lists. I came up with the idea all by myself. Today, I was going to do my Top Ten things to congratulate Simon for, but I thought that was too self-referential. I should be writing a little more often now, as I am officially on holidays, and so can whittle away the hours thinking of witty comments to send. Today, I went and got my Learners Permit renewed- it expired AGAIN! Hilarious. The best thing was that I didn't have to re-sit the computer test again, they changed the law two weeks ago! And now I'm going to get a new library card as I think I lost my other one. My, what a whirlwind of excitement I'm living on holidays. Bet you wish you were here. And now, it's time for Simon's Top Ten Jobs You Should Only Half Apply For: 1.Kangaroo Shooter 2.Call Centre Operator 3.Washerwoman 4.Asphalt worker 5.Dancer(exotic) 6.Brick cleaner 7.Personal assistant 8.Anything at Supa Valu 9.Anything at Inspirations 10.Teacher
