Out of the bubble......... One's destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.-- Henry Miller

Is this real?

I had somewhat of a restless night (another symptom of high altitude…). We go to sleep here around 8pm and we don’t get up until 7 or 8am – our bedtime is dictated by the temperature around us. Besides that I have trouble sleeping in these elevations, who could sleep THAT LONG?

Today we hiked to where the glaciers join together in the ice river – a LONG gradual walk (no backpack………..what a treat!!). Funny: I got easier out of breath on the little ups and downs then on the steep climb yesterday.

The wind bothered me, but now I am sitting sheltered in the dining room in the sun writing…..

Tomorrow we’ll be heading back – can’t wait to be in warmer climate – can’t wait to wash myself again.

Later the same day: It blows my mind to realize  and truly think about where I am right now……………..Ama Dali fired up the stove with the dried yak shit, (it doesn’t smell!!) brought me hot chocolate, a ginger tea and vegetable fried noodles while I write and enjoy the view here, up in heaven.
